Ways to Partner

The CABBI team is excited to tailor our interactions with industry to meet our shared goals. Below are a few examples of how we partner with companies. We are happy to discuss new opportunities and partnerships. For more information, please contact CABBI Program Manager, Celine Young.

Use of CABBI Intellectual Property

Intellectual property (IP) developed by CABBI is licensed through the home institution of the inventors – at any one of our 21 institutions. Each institution provides support to acquire rights. Licenses may be nonexclusive or exclusive. Check out Technologies to see our recent IP advances.

Exchanging Information or Materials

We use nondisclosure agreements or material transfer agreements to protect proprietary information or materials and to provide companies with confidential CABBI information and materials. This may include CABBI providing biomass that we have successfully done carbon accounting on.

Sponsored Research

Costs of a research project are paid by a company with CABBI researchers completing the work.

Attend Trainings or Watch the Feedstock-to-Fuels Pipeline at IBRL

The Integrated Bioprocessing Research Laboratory is a one-of-a-kind facility at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign that provides a number of training opportunities, such as an annual fermentation short course and other hands-on learning opportunities. Under a nondisclosure agreement, you can witness the Feedstock-to-Fuels pipeline work at IBRL.

Sponsor RISE Internship Program

Sponsor RISE, CABBI’s competitive summer internship for students from underrepresented groups, and meet qualified candidates to meet your workforce demands.

Sponsor CABBI Poster Session or Poster Awards

Meet the CABBI team at our annual retreat, showcase your company at a booth at the poster session, or sponsor a poster session award – all new in 2024!
